Abstract
This case report shows the effect of Palashadi Lepa, in the management of Jwara. A 24year old male patient presented OPD with complaints of high-grade fever with chills, and perianal infection which is characterized by localized pain, swelling and pus discharge. As per present comlaints and clinical features it was diagnosed as Sannipata Jwara associated with Dushta Vrana. Palashadi Lepa is prepared from Palasha pushpa (flowers of Butea Monosperma) and Nimba Tamra Pallava (Tender leaves of Azadirachta indica), and was freshly applied over forehead at 6 hours interval over two consecutive days. The thickness of lepa was 4-5mm (Ardramahisha Charma), resulting in a rapid reduction in temperature after each application. The first reading dropped from 102.6°F to 100.2°F within one hour (2.4°F reduction) and further decreased to 97.9°F by the third hour (4.7°F reduction). The patient reported relief without any side effects such as itching, redness or skin irritation. The therapeutic action of the ingredients is attributed to the anti-pyretic, anti-inflammatory, anti-microbial and immunomodulatory effects, facilitated by transdermal absorption through hair follicles and swedavaha srotas. The rapid onset of action and absence of adverse effects support the potential of Palashadi Lepa as a safe, fast-acting intervention for fever. However, as this report is based on a single case, Further clinical studies are recommended to validate efficacy and explore broader therapeutic applications.
