Abstract
Koshtha is the most important entity when it comes in context with the Panchakarma procedures. Because the treatment as well as its outcome depends upon the type of koshtha one has. Not having knowledge of koshtha leads to various complications. But, assessment of koshtha is tough when it comes to the factors involved in its assessment as well as the factors which influence it. Observing above areas, the knowledge of the standardized factors which help understanding nature of koshtha and helping in assessing it is still a deficient area in terms of research. Hence, this article enlightens the standardize scale for deciding the nature of one’s koshtha. Primary Objective (Aim): - To standardize the koshtha before panchakarma procedures. Material & Methods: -The 102 subjects attending the Outpatient department of Panchakarma of our hospital, fulfilling the criteria of inclusion were selected for the present study. Informed consent was taken after explaining the purpose of the study in detail in non-technical terms verbally. Conclusions: Koshtha deciding scale (KDS) is very helpful practically in deciding the nature of koshtha. Koshtha is changing entity unlike prakruti.

Key words: Keywords: - Koshtha, Standardization of Koshtha Deciding Scale, Pachakarma etc.
