PHILOSPHICAL AND APPLIED VISTAS OF YOGA IN CHARAKA SAMHITA

Abstract
The Siddhanta of Yoga was well known by the Acharya of Ayurveda too. Chakrapanidatta, the commentator of Charaka Samhita, explained in his commentary Ayurveda Dipika that, both Charaka and Patanjali were one and the same. Thus, one can find many references regarding Yoga in Charaka Samhita like Yoga Siddhi, Yogicharya, Hathayoga Siddhanta like Vamana, Virechana, Basti etc. Here an effort is made to enlighten the correlation between Siddhanta of Yoga and Ayurveda.
