Abstract
Musculoskeletal disorders are characterized by pain and loss of physical function in the body, which limits a person’s activities and restricts their participation in society. Emerging evidences indicates that obesity may also have a profound effect on soft tissue structures, such as tendon, fascia and cartilage. Excess weight puts added stress on joints, particularly knees, causing pain and worsening arthritis damage. Therefore lose weight in case of obese arthritis patient is equally important as the part of their disease management. We report here about a recently conducted workshop which was focused upon effective weight reduction strategies useful for arthritis patients.
