Ayurvedic Approach to Diminishing Ovarian Reserve: A Review of New Insights

Jeena Aravind U, Gopikrishna S, Mukesh Edavalath.

Abstract
Diminishing Ovarian Reserve (DOR) is an emerging health concern among young females in the modern era. The rising incidence of DOR calls for a comprehensive exploration of its etiology and management across medical systems. This article analyses the causative factors and progression of DOR from an Ayurvedic perspective. The contributing factors range from environmental toxins to psychological stressors. The interplay between virulent environmental elements and weakened body systems accelerates ovarian depletion. Inherently susceptible tissues or those weakened by latent morbidity may become focal points for this degenerative process. Preventive strategies include minimizing exposure to toxic substances, reprogramming bodily systems post-illness, adopting immunomodulatory measures, and maintaining a balanced lifestyle. Early intervention with well-suited rejuvenating therapies, after addressing the underlying cause, may aid in the effective management of DOR.

Key words: Diminishing ovarian reserve, dhatukshaya, dhatupaka, Ayurveda
