A Survey of Medicinal Plants in Central Ridge Reserve Forest (New Delhi) in Perspective of Dravyaguna

Abstract
ABSTRACT
Thisstudyisbasedonthefindingsoftaxonomicresearchworkcarriedoutinthecentralridgeof Delhi, India. The goal of present research work is to document the information about local medicinal plants and to compare the obtained information with the already available literature from several Nighantus and books on these medicinal plants. Documentation of total 101 plant species belonging to 52 families was done in the study area. Out of 101 plant species, 46 were trees,22shrubs,24herbs,07climbersand02werecreepers.17plantswereusedasAahardravya and 84 were used as Aushadh dravya. These plant species are used for the treatment of neurological disorder, cardiovascular diseases, gynaecological diseases, hepatic and renal diseases and other common diseases like fever, cough, cold, diarrhoea, cut and wounds. The completeresultsofourstudyaregivenintableformandincludethespeciesHindiname,Sanskrit name, Botanical name, Family, Habit, Indications and Type of dravya.
