Evaluation of ovulation effect of shuddha tankana (borax) in letrozole induced polycystic ovarian syndrome an experimental study

Abstract
PCOS is a disorder with alterations in the structure as well as functions of female reproductive organs and is also associated with metabolic disorders. Findings from animal models to reveal the drug pharmacology further it also provides insights into the implications from these studies for improved clinical management of this disorder. In present study PCOS induced by Letrozole and treated with Shodhita tankana (test drug). Tankana on one of the kshara Dravya which possess stree shukra janana property, which may considered as Ovulating property. Hence to revalidate property & to compare its results were compared with standard drug Clomifin citrate (Standard drug). Study was conducted At the end of study wister strain albino rats were scarified Overy & Uterus isolated for histomorphometry changes & blood sample collected to know the hormonal changes.
The test drug Shuddha Tankana has shown a significant result and similar to that of standard drug Clomiphene citrate result in letrozole induced PCOS.
