Mission mainstreaming of Ayush Void of Strategies and Action Plans

Abstract
As per the official statements, the department of Indian
systems of Medicine (ISM&H) was created in March 1995
and was re-named as department of Ayurveda, Yoga
&Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy (AYUSH)
in Nov.2003 with a view to provide focused attention to
development of education and research in AYUSH Systems.
Recently Sowarigpa or Tibetan medicine has also been
recognized as one of the components of this department.
The department attempts to lay emphasis on up-gradation
of AYUSH educational standards, quality control and
standardization of drugs, improving the availability of
medicinal plants material, R&D and awareness about the
efficacy of the systems domestically and globally.
